Local History
This course will look at aspects of local history, some of which are often ignored, from a period just after the Black Death, through the Enclosures Acts of the late 18th Century and into the industrial period. It will also look at the history of this history (historiography) and at the social implications of this history for the area’s population, both high born and low.
Digital Imaging
The Digital Imaging evening class is intended for those learners who want to have a greater understanding of their ‘more advanced’ digicams. Those with DSLR cameras or the so called ‘Bridge’ cameras, like the Canon G10 or Nikon P6000, who want to be able to use controls to their best advantage may find the course of interest. As we will be using Photoshop to ‘develop’ the pictures, computer literacy is imperative. A great deal of practical camera use is expected, so some time spent taking pictures away from the classroom is required.
