We are a relatively small Covid-aware college designed only for adults and have a range of measures in place. The safety of our staff and students remains our top priority, and we are committed to supporting our students to achieve and progress.
We are committed to carrying on learning to support you to achieve and progress. Our college is fully open and welcoming students into our building with a range of measures in place designed to keep you safe.
We also have a range of carefully planned methods in place to adapt and manage our teaching and learning, to ensure you can continue your studies.
This includes being prepared to use blended learning (mixture of online and face-to-face teaching) for our courses, so we can respond and adapt to government guidance as needed to remain Covid secure.
We offer to all our students who study with us:
We also encourage everyone to:
Aligned with the most recent government guidance, the following also applies to all students, staff and visitors:
Face coverings
Feel free to wear a mask in our college if you wish to do so and please remain mindful of others around you. From 27th January 2022, it will no longer be mandatory.
Testing
The College encourages all students and staff to test twice weekly using lateral flow device (LFD) tests. We encourage short course students to test before coming into college. If this is not possible, you can collect one when you arrive on the day of your course at Northern College to carry out in our testing area. If you display any Covid-19 symptoms or test positive, you should not travel into college and need to follow government guidelines.
Vaccination
All eligible staff and students are encouraged to take up the offer of the vaccine, including boosters.
Vaccines are our best defence against Covid-19. They help protect young people and adults, and benefit those around them. Vaccination makes people less likely to catch the virus and less likely to pass it on. To book a vaccine, please visit: Book or manage a coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccination – NHS (www.nhs.uk).
Good hygiene
Everyone in College should continue to follow the basic rules of good hygiene. This will help to protect individuals and others from Covid-19. These are:
