A Child’s World – An Introduction to the Psychology of the Child

Why does the cry of a baby instantly grab our attention?  How do children learn? Do our early bonds affect our later relationships? This course tries to answer these questions, and others, giving us an accessible introduction to the psychology of the child. You will learn about the psychology of attachment, and its impact on later development, security, and mental health. Together with discovering the psychology which underpins children’s successful learning and education and taking part in some discovery learning for yourself.

This course is beneficial for those who have been out of education or work for a while and are looking to gain new knowledge and skills. You could progress on to further short courses such as Psychology: What makes us tick?
