Cyber Security is the practice of protecting computer systems from digital attack and it is a growing industry in our modern, digital world. On this course you will learn about the risks posed to computer systems and how those systems can be protected, while also learning about the laws and regulations governing ethical computer use. This course offers a Level 1 Award in Cyber Security.

The course is a mix of discussion, research tasks, practical tasks, and report writing.
As well as providing a recognised qualification on the subject, this course could also lead on to the Cyber Security (Level 2) course at the college.
No specialist equipment is required.
We have 2 different start dates for this course:
No prior knowledge or experience of Cyber Security is required but students will be required to have completed the Next Steps with Computers course, or already have digital skills equivalent to those listed in that course’s description. Students will also need to be working at Level 1 or above in Literacy.
This course is fully funded for eligible students
If you are not eligible, the cost of the course is 144. There is no option to pay to stay residentially if you do not meet the criteria for residential funding. The vast majority of students are eligible to study and stay residentially for free and we will confirm as part of the application process.
