Course content

If you have recently passed your Level 1 English Functional Skills and you found that the Level 2 teaching was accessible to you whilst on your course, do consider joining us for the Intensive Level 2 English Course. This Functional Skills course will take the same format as the 5 week course, but will take place over 2 weeks and is full time Monday to Friday.

We will start with the Writing Paper and the Discussion for the Speaking Assignments in Week One. There will be a mock exam mid-week and the final Writing exam will be on Day 5.

Week 2 will focus fully upon the Reading Paper and the Speaking exam Presentation. This will be a formal presentation, the topic to be decided upon with support from your tutor. There will be a Reading mock exam within week 2 and the second Friday will be when the final Reading exam will take place. All assessments will be in the afternoon.

We will need 100% attendance for this course and all of the exams will be digital (this means being able maximise and minimise documents, copy and paste sections of text and produce 250 words minimum for each of the two writing tasks, within an 80 minute timeframe.)

What are the entry requirements?

Most jobs require you to have Level 2 in English and Maths. These qualifications are important in jobs that are most employable in the South and West Yorkshire Regions such as Education and Health and Social Care sector.
