What is Level 1?

This is equivalent to GCSE Grades 3-1 / D-G or O Level grades D-G

This course will take your understanding of Artificial Intelligence further by exploring the impact, both positive and negative, of AI on individuals, society, and businesses. You will also learn how to program a simple AI model that can recognise sound, facial expressions, or motions.

Course content

The course is a mix of discussion, learning about the history and future of AI, and practical tasks using AI software.

What can this course lead to?

Developing further understanding of AI in our digital world is vital, but this course will also offer a glimpse into how individuals can harness AI for their own purposes, and could lead on to more advanced digital courses at the college.

No specialist equipment is required, but it is recommended students create a ChatGPT account before the course starts.

What are the entry requirements?

Students will need to have completed the college’s What is Artificial Intelligence course, as well as the Next Steps with Computers course (or already have digital skills equivalent to those listed in that course’s description).
