Course description

Throughout the course, learners will explore the types of addiction people may experience and the range of treatments, care approaches and support available.

The course also highlights why education and awareness are essential in improving addiction treatment and relapse prevention, both nationally and within local communities.

Course content

Learners will gain valuable insight into how individuals can be supported throughout their recovery journey. This course is ideal for anyone who works with, or may come into contact with, people affected by addiction, including those in healthcare, social care, childcare, education or housing settings.

What can this course lead to?

Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to the following:

Level 1 Substance Misuse
Level 1 Alcohol Awareness
Level 1 Peer Mentoring
Level 1 Mental Health Awareness
Level 1 Counselling Skills

Learners could seek out volunteering or employment opportunities within health and social care settings.

What are the entry requirements?

No formal qualifications are required to study this course. A willingness to learn is essential.
