Course description

Are you looking to progress to a Level 3 qualification and have been out of education for some time or don't currently have a Level 2 qualification?
Do you need a bit more time to think about what you want to do at university?
Do you want to develop your study skills or your confidence whilst getting back into education.
Then this could be the right course for you.

This Certificate in Essential Skills for Further Study in Health Science Professions is aimed primarily at learners who wish to pursue a career in a health-related field which requires academic study at university but who are not yet ready to study at Level 3. This may be because of gaps in your skills or knowledge, or because you are returning to study. This Certificate is designed to build a foundation of knowledge related to Health Science Professions and prepare you for Level 3 study such as an Access to Higher Education (HE) Diploma or a Higher Apprenticeship.

You will study subjects including Health Studies, Safeguarding, Physiology, and the Sociology of Health; as well as develop a range of valuable academic study skills.

You don't need any qualifications to come on this course, but you do need to be determined to challenge yourself and work hard. The course will be delivered Monday to Wednesday, 9.30 to 4.30pm each day, over nine weeks.
