Course description

Are you looking to take your first steps into a line management role? Or do you already have some supervisory or management responsibility but no formal training?

This fast-track qualification is ideal for the development of team leaders, supervisors and first line managers, and is designed to improve your skills and techniques.

In line with rise in the cost of living, many are looking to progress up the pay scale within their current employment or are seeking higher paid employment elsewhere. Employees may feel overlooked for promotion, but the nature of this course can bring you to the attention of management as someone with initiative and drive and can flag you up for promotion because it requires students to complete management related tasks in the workplace.

The course will focus on leading and managing people, building relationships and communication as well as exploring operational and project management.

You will leave this course with the necessary skills that are vital for a successful career in management.

This course will be delivered both at Northern College and online. You will come to campus one Saturday a month and study online one evening a month. There are also online tutorials to support you with your studies. Delivery of the programme is flexible and can move online if weather conditions or other restrictions prevent attendance on site.
