Course description
Have you ever wondered why some people are wealthier than others? On this 2-day short course, you will begin to explore the social divisions of Britain and how they impact on life chances. You will explore how society is divided by age, class, gender, and ethnicity and how these divisions impact on all areas on chances in life, such as a doing well at school, getting a good job, living longer, and having enough money.
What can this course lead to?
This course will introduce you to the subject of social inequality and will support you to progress on to further short courses and gain qualifications, such as Reading between the Lines: the role of the media and the Sociology of Health and Illness. Our Student Support Services team will work with you to design a personalised learning journey based on your needs and aspirations.
