This course will explore some the common mental health issues experienced by children and young people including anxiety and depression. It will help you develop an understanding of how to support children and young people with mental health concerns.
What can this course lead to?
This course is beneficial for those who have been out of education or work for a while and are looking to gain new knowledge and skills. You could progress onto further short courses such as Mental Health First Aid or progress to gaining a qualification such as the Level 1 Award in Mental Health Awareness. Our Student Support Services team will work with you to design a personalised learning journey based on your needs and aspirations.

Course fees and funding support
If you are not eligible, the cost of the course is £25.00. If you choose to stay residentially, and you are not eligible via the residential funding assessment, there will be an additional fee to pay. The vast majority of students are eligible to study and stay residentially for free and we will confirm when you apply.
