What are the entry requirements?

No formal qualifications are required to apply for this course. However, we do recommend you access one of our introductory or Level 1 courses before you access this course if you don’t already have a level 1 qualification or if you have been out of education for some time.

How much does this cost?

FREE*

* This course is fully funded for eligible students.

If you are not eligible, the cost of the course is £225.00. If you choose to stay residentially, and you are not eligible via the residential funding assessment, there will be an additional fee to pay. The vast majority of students are eligible to study and stay residentially for free and we will confirm when you apply.

Course description

This professional development qualification provides essential knowledge and skills to anyone wanting to actively support individuals with learning disabilities.

The course is suitable for people who come into contact with individuals with learning disabilities as part of their job. This could include people in community and volunteering roles or working in education, leisure and employment support.

You will need to be working, volunteering or on practical placement to undertake this course as you need to show competence in both knowledge and skills.

On completion of this course, you will achieve:
