Course description
It is ideal for adults who work with, support, or interact with individuals who may be at risk of, or experiencing, domestic abuse.
This programme will be delivered on campus, three days a week over five weeks, providing a safe and supportive, face-to-face learning environment with tutor guidance throughout
Course content
Unit 1 – Understand Domestic Abuse: Learn about what domestic abuse is, including prevalence, misconceptions, and national strategy.
Unit 2 – Understand the Signs and Risk Factors: Explore the indicators of abuse, patterns, risk factors, disclosure, and safe reporting.
Unit 3 – Understand the Impact of Domestic Abuse: Examine how abuse affects children, families, service providers, and wider society.
Unit 4 – Policy, Response and Intervention: Gain insight into legislation, multi-agency working, interventions, and support services.
