If you are not eligible, the cost of the course is £25.00. If you choose to stay residentially, and you are not eligible via the residential funding assessment, there will be an additional fee to pay. The vast majority of students are eligible to study and stay residentially for free and we will confirm when you apply.

Course description

Are you interested in finding out what Sociology is? On this 2 day course, you will learn about what sociology is, explore what is meant by culture, norms and values and how our behaviour is influenced by the society in which we live.

What can this course lead to?

This course will introduce you to the subject of Sociology and will support you to progress on to further short courses and gain qualifications, such as Exploring Social Inequality and Reading between the Lines: the role of the media. Our Student Support Services team will work with you to design a personalised learning journey based on your needs and aspirations.
