Coronavirus update: 5th January 2021

In line with the 4th January 2021 government announcement in relation to the new national lockdown, Northern College will be closed for face-to-face activity until the February half term 2021. All staff working and any teaching will be operating remotely. Should you wish to contact staff you can do this via email or by calling 01226 776000. During this time, we are continuing to take applications over the phone and online for 2021 courses.

To discuss a course or an application, or for any other queries, you can:

  • Telephone 01226 776 000 where our reception team, will be there to answer your call. They can also arrange a telephone appointment with our Student Support Services team.
  • Book onto one of our free virtual open events.
  • You can also search for and apply for a course online via our website northern.ac.uk – This is easy to do and will help us to process your application quickly. 

As a covid-secure college, it is important that we align with the government guidance, and all work together to control the spread of the virus and protect the NHS.

What does this mean for our students?

We are contacting students individually about how this affects them, and any customers who may have planned to hold large events on our site in the short term. We may also cancel a small number of short courses, where they cannot be delivered online. We will review this on an ongoing basis, and publish any updates on our website and social media channels.

We are operating our accredited courses remotely for our students, and they will have continued support to achieve and progress. We are also continuing to take course applications over the phone.

The College also has a range of carefully planned methods in place to adapt and manage our teaching and learning, for our accredited provision. This includes being prepared to use blended learning (mixture of online and face-to-face teaching) for our courses, so we can respond and adapt to government guidance as needed to remain Covid secure.

Can I still apply for a course?

We are operating as usual, continuing to take applications and you can apply over the phone or online. Your options are:
