Crafty Surprise for Student Activities Coordinator

Last week, our Student Activities Coordinator, Claire, got a huge surprise when our generous Access to HE Diploma students presented her with a fantastic donation or craft supplies along with a thank you card and banner to express how much the activities had meant to them during their year at College.

The students lured Claire to a teaching room under false pretenses in order to surprise her with the generous donation and it certainly worked!  Claire said, “I was and still am totally overwhelmed by the students kindness and the thought that had gone into planning the surprise.  I am so grateful for the huge donation of craft materials which will benefit other students. I will miss them all and wish them all the very best for the future”.

Student Activities take place in the evenings and at weekends and can vary from arts and crafts to bird box building or gardening, bingo, film and quiz nights or walking and instrument playing.  They are open to every student attending a course on that day and are a great opportunity for students to socialise and make new friends as well as giving them the chance to unwind after a day of learning!
