National Careers Week 2021

This week is National Careers Week, which is a celebration of careers guidance and free resources in education to advise and inspire students as they enter the world of work.

For the first time in it’s ten year history, the National Careers Week is being held in a virtual environment which Northern College is supporting.  Find out more about the online activities taking place here.

Northern College offers a wide range of educational programmes for adults aged 19 or over.  As we’re the only adult residential college in the North, we are passionate about supporting adults to achieve their career goals.

Our programme of Quick HIT courses are week-long high intensive training courses focused on digital skills, work skills, English and maths.  They’re a great opportunity to develop your skills to kick start your career, gain employment or progress in your current role. Learn more here.

Are you looking to retrain and restart your career in IT, Health Care, Policing or Social Work/Care?

We offer a range of residential Access to Higher Education courses which will fast track you to university in just one year.  With outstanding achievement rates, wrap around support and residential accommodation set within acres of National trust grounds, it’s an opportunity not to be missed.

Whether you’re looking to change careers and retrain, or simply need to gain new skills needed for employment in the post-Covid world, we’ve got you covered!  Find a full list of the courses on offer via this link: Courses for Adults.

If you need advice and guidance about our courses and your chosen career, you can book an appointment with our Student Support Services department by emailing studentservices@northern.ac.uk .  Still not sure if Northern College is right for you?  Come along to one of our Virtual Open Events, they’re a great way to meet tutors and find out about courses and funding support for adult learners.  Book your free place here.
