Students Donate Hand-Made Blanket to Centrepoint

Student Activity Coordinator, Claire Green, delivered a hand-made blanket to Centrepoint in Barnsley last week.

Students at The Northern College crocheted the blanket themselves during Student Activity Sessions.  These sessions take place in the evenings and weekends so that residents at College are kept busy in their spare time.  Activities vary from organised walks and quiz nights to more craft orientated sessions where students explore their creativity and imagination.

The students were enthusiastic about the blanket being donated to someone in need and Centrepoint was the perfect choice as it’s a charity who support young people aged 16 to 25 years old by providing supported accommodation.  The blanket will be used in the main lounge area of the accommodation so that everyone has the opportunity to benefit from it on cold winter evenings.

Here Claire is testing out the blanket in the lounge with Chris and Kieran from Centrepoint.

Thank you to everyone who took part in this project.
