One and two-day Introduction Courses will support you to return to learning. You could then progress to week-long courses focused on developing the skills employers ask for when you are applying for a job. We also offer courses aimed at individuals and families with a range of outdoor and personal wellbeing activities, and personal and career development.
Short courses introducing you to English and Maths, with the opportunity to progress through to Functional Skills and GCSE qualifications at level 2. These are essential for most workplaces and to access university.
Short and long courses from entry level to introduce you to the digital world. We also offer Essential Digital Skills qualifications needed for progression and work, and qualifications to give you the IT skills useful in a business environment. We also have an Access to Higher Education course in Computing.
A new range of short courses introducing elements of Business and Enterprise such as marketing, communications and management techniques. You can progress onto longer programmes from level 1 to level 3 which can lead to progression to university level courses or higher-level roles in the workplace. We have also launched a new Level 3 Applied General Certificate in Business and Enterprise and a Level 3 Diploma in Management Skills and Knowledge.
Would you like to work with others to tackle social issues, improve your local area and support communities? These short courses will introduce you to areas such as community wellbeing, project management and social action. You will study with others who also want to make a positive difference.
You can start with short courses introducing you to areas including mental health, first aid, health and social care, and different health professions. You can then progress through our longer courses into higher and professional levels of study that will enable progression to university or work.
Short courses in Humanities and Social Studies, supporting you to build introductory level skills in areas such as psychology, criminology and sociology. Once you have discovered where your true interests lie, a programme can be developed to ensure you have the skills needed to progress onto our Pre-Access and Access to Higher Education offer.
The Pre-Access programme provides you with study skills at level 2 enabling you to progress to an Access to Higher Education course, or to go on to further technical study or the workplace. This includes Level 2 Pre-Access Diploma (Health Professions) and Level 2 Pre-Access Diploma (Social Studies).
Access to Higher Education programmes include Health Science Professions, Humanities and Social Sciences and Policing and Criminology. You will gain a full level 3 qualification enabling entry to university or work.
Begin with short courses introducing you to different ways adults learn. This can lead to teacher training courses (level 3 to 7) to work as a teacher, tutor or lecturer in adult learning in colleges, the community or private training organisations. Our BA (Hons) Education and Professional Development course also allows people who already hold a level 5 teaching qualification to achieve a degree.
We offer flexible delivery in the day, on evenings or weekends and you can also study residentially, online or a mixture of the two.

For level 3 courses, students under 24 may be eligible to study for free if they do not already have a full level 3 qualification (equivalent of two A-levels). Most students aged 24 and over cover the cost of our higher-level courses by applying for an Advanced Learner Loan.
