The LLSC plays a central role in the experience of Northern College learners.

In 2007, it gained a National Beacon Award from CoLRiC (The Council for Learning Resources in Colleges) for Curriculum Integration. The LLSC went on to win the same Award again in 2013.

The LLSC is located in the Long Gallery of the Main House and combines a traditional library environment with high quality information technology resources. The LLSC stocks a wide range of books, journals and DVDs and subscribes to a comprehensive suite of electronic information sources which are available to learners both on and off-campus. The entire study area is wi-fi enabled.
Experienced librarians are available to provide help and advice to students on the full range of available facilities. They work closely with the academic staff to ensure that resources are closely matched to learning needs.
The LLSC is open and staffed for 70 hours per week September to May as below. Summer and holiday periods will vary.
