Financial Support
Financial support for students
If you are studying at Northern College, you may be able to get financial support to help you while you study, which can help towards:
- Travel costs
- Essential items you need for your course
- Food costs
Financial support is not automatically given to every student. You must apply and show that you need financial support. You will need to provide evidence of your household income as part of your application.
As Northern College is part of Barnsley College, please read the Barnsley College Student Funding booklet to find out more about the financial support available.
When do I need to apply?
You need to complete a new financial support application each academic year. If you start a new learning aim during the same academic year:
- If your financial circumstances have not changed, you will need to complete a new declaration through Pay My Student portal.
- If your financial circumstances have changed, you will need to complete a new full application through Pay My Student portal and provide up-to-date evidence of your income.
Apply before you enrol
Please apply for financial support before you enrol on your course.
Applications can take up to 10 days to be assessed and for your award to be confirmed, so please apply as early as possible.
