The course is a mix of discussion, research tasks, and workbook questions.
This course could also lead on to the Cyber Security (Level 1) course at the college.
No specialist equipment is required.
No prior knowledge or experience of Cyber Security is required but students will be required to have completed the Next Steps with Computers course, or already have digital skills equivalent to those listed in that course’s description.
This course is fully funded for eligible students
If you are not eligible, the cost of the course is £144.00. There is no option to pay to stay residentially if you do not meet the criteria for residential funding. The vast majority of students are eligible to study and stay residentially for free and we will confirm as part of the application process.

My learning journey started at Northern College and yesterday I graduated with a Bachelors Hons degree in Social Work.
Two years ago, I first went to Northern College for the first time to do a self confidence course. Approximately eight courses later including counselling and several people skills courses, I am now working in a homeless hostel supporting the vulnerable and encouraging them to attend courses at Northern College.
After completing the short course in Counselling Therapy, I was inspired and motivated to pursue the level 1 and level 2 as well. Was a life changing experience.
