Course description

A fast track course for those students able to learn maths quickly and willing to supplement their class work with home study. The group will include students working between Entry 3 and Level 2, supported by a maths tutor, and will be assessed by exams at the end of the course.

Course content

You will learn about how to use mathematical models and processes to solve problems and the English skills needed to interpret questions.

Topics include: Number, Shape and Space, Algebra and Handling Data.

Assessment is by exam which takes place at the end of the course and marked externally.

Please bring a scientific calculator.

When does this start and end?

8 July 2024 - 23 July 2024

What are the entry requirements?

You will be asked to attend an Induction day usually a week before the start of the courses.

If you have previously studied Functional Skills and completed Entry Level 3 you will automatically move onto Level 1.

Or if you have completed Functional Skills level 1 you will automatically move onto Level 2.

Most jobs require you to have Level 2 in English and Maths. These qualifications are important in jobs that are most employable in the South and West Yorkshire Regions such as Education and Health and Social Care sector.
