Training Programmes

We want to help build your skills and confidence to support you successfully getting a job as a customer assistant with Tesco.

What is in it for you? 

In the first two weeks we will: 

• Deliver a customer service course helping you to understand retail, including the importance of health and safety 
• Help you understand the essential skills you need to succeed at work including teamwork, communication, timekeeping, digital skills and how to prepare for your interview 
• Support you to find ways to help manage your mental health and wellbeing 
• Support you with travel costs if required 

• Provide meals if staying residentially 

In the third week, Tesco will: 

• Provide you with 16 hours work experience in one of their large stores 
• Support you with training to help you understand and experience the role of a Customer Assistant 
• Welcome you to the store and support you throughout your time with us 

• Provide £3.50 per day towards your lunch cost 

What we need from you: 

• Available from 25th September to the 13th October to either attend Northern College Residentially or an online programme. 
• Store placement starts Monday 9th October- 4 x 4 hour shifts Monday-Thursday with a guaranteed interview on your last day. 
• Live in Humber, West Yorkshire, North Yorkshire or South Yorkshire 

If you study residentially, you will get all your meals included and benefit from face-to-face learning and wrap-around student support.
