When does this start and end?

We will work with you to make sure you are on the correct Level going forward. The dates below can be used as a guide.

Level 1 dates

15th-16th June 2023
29th-30th June 2023
6th-7th July 2023
13th-14th July 2023

Level 2 dates

19th-20th June 2023
26th-27th June 2023
3rd-4th July 2023
10th-11th July 2023

Maths Intensive

20th July 2023
24th-28th July 2023

What are the entry requirements?

If you already have Entry Level 3 you will move on to Level 1, or if you already have Level 1 you will move onto Level 2.

How much does this cost?

FREE*

* This course is fully funded for eligible students.

If you are not eligible, the cost of the course is £0.00. If you choose to stay residentially, and you are not eligible via the residential funding assessment, there will be an additional fee to pay. The vast majority of students are eligible to study and stay residentially for free and we will confirm when you apply.

Course description

The Functional Skills qualifications are based around skills needed for everyday life and to enable you to have the flexibility to problem solve using these skills. On this course, you will learn to use numbers and the number system, measure, shape and space, handle data, and solve mathematical problems and make decisions using maths.

What can this course lead to?

Functional Skills Level 2 qualifications are now regularly accepted in universities for Higher Education studies depending upon the degree, but will also be a requirement for many Level 3 study programmes.

Functional Skills also make you more competitive in the jobs market as employers value applicants with Level 2 English and maths qualifications.
