The course helps Health and Safety Reps identify, prevent and control risks helping to build a safer and healthier workplace.

Course description

It encourages reps to involve members in safety issues by developing a collective approach to health and safety. It helps reps keep up to date on health and safety law and information enabling them to use it more effectively. The course help reps build health and safety organisation and effect real change in the workplace.

This course is delivered onsite at Northern College

The course is delivered over 10 weeks in a classroom every Wednesday.

Trade Union Education at Northern College is meaningful, purposeful, accessible and rewarding. There are no exams, or long lectures, the education programme involves practical activities where you will work with your peers. This is an opportunity to step back from your job and your activist work to think and learn. Skills development and confidence building are essential elements of all Trade Union courses.
