What is Level 1?

This is equivalent to GCSE Grades 3-1 / D-G or O Level grades D-G

This course will raise awareness of the issues surrounding mental health such as: what is mental health and what causes mental health difficulties?

Course description

The course will dispel some of the myths and misconceptions linked to mental health issues and will enable you to develop a knowledge of the rights of those with mental health issues and where appropriate support can be accessed.

This course would enable you to progress onto other Level 2 courses in this area.

What are the entry requirements?

No formal qualifications are required to study this course. A willingness to learn is essential.

Studies have shown that taking part in education helps people to increase their confidence, social participation and sense of achievement. Studying at Northern College provides a safe space to explore mental health and wellbeing, raising positive awareness. As well as being supported by tutors with a wealth of knowledge and experience around the subject you will also be able to connect to other like minded students.
