Course description

When we apply for a new job, we are often asked for a CV and covering letter. This is a chance for us to make a good first impression. If you don’t currently have a CV or feel as though the one you have needs re-working, join us on this course to find out how you can improve your chances of success in the job market.

Course content

On this course we will work independently and in groups to focus upon:

What is a CV and covering letter?
Thinking as the employer: what is important information?
How to create and adapt a covering letter
Creating our own CV and a model covering letter

Useful information

You will be able to create a personalised CV and covering letter by the end of this course. If you bring details (dates and levels) of your past work experience, qualifications and or volunteering, this will be useful.

When does this start and end?

At the moment we have no available dates for this course. We will be updating them throughout the year, check back or submit and enquiry to be added to a waiting list.

What are the entry requirements?

No formal qualifications are required.

Most jobs require you to have Level 2 in English and Maths. These qualifications are important in jobs that are most employable in the South and West Yorkshire Regions such as Education and Health and Social Care sector.
