Do you enjoy being in the outdoors? Do you find gardening good for your wellbeing?
We have launched a new horticulture course to grow your skills and knowledge, delivered in the stunning National Trust grounds surrounding our campus.
You will develop a range of green-fingered skills which you can then use to develop your patio planters, garden or allotment.
You will also achieve a Level 1 Award in practical Horticulture from City & Guilds. This course is a great start for those wishing to pursue a career in gardening or landscaping.

From Forestry to Navigating Walks, we offer courses that take advantage of our unique setting. Our team at the college have years of experience in the outdoors and you can begin your practical education with us now.

Our students will begin their careers with our courses and move into fields such as gardening, landscaping and outdoor pursuits. You will also learn more about returning to education at Northern College and how you can progress.
Study for free
The vast majority students can study most of our courses up to level 2 for free.
Study residentially
Most students apply to stay over on our campus whilst they study. We are a college only designed for adults, surrounded by over 500 acres of National Trust gardens and parkland. This means you can focus on your studies with like-minded peers and receive exceptional support throughout.
