What is Level 2?

This is the equivalent to GCSE grades 9-4 / A*-C, O Level grades A- C or an Intermediate Apprenticeship.

This course will provide a basic introduction to counselling for those who have had no previous experience of, or training in, the field of helping relationships.

Course description

This course would be suitable for individuals seeking a career change, undertaking voluntary work in a range of sectors and will support progression to level 3 and level 4 qualifications for those who are thinking of training to be a professional counsellor. Please note: this qualification does not qualify you to become a practising counsellor.

Course content

This course will focus on 4 specific areas:

- counselling skills and personal development

- using counselling skills

- counselling skills theory

- diversity and ethics in the use of counselling skills

What are the entry requirements?

You are required to have Level 1 English or other Level 1 qualifications. Must have good communication skills including speaking and listening skills.
