What is Introduction?

This is an introductory level course for beginners and requires no formal qualifications to apply.

This course will introduce you to some basic counselling skills, and the different pathways to becoming a qualified counsellor. It will also give you some knowledge about how to use counselling skills in voluntary and paid roles.

What can this course lead to?

This course will introduce you to the underpinning ideas within counselling practice and will support you to progress on to further short courses including Exploring Counselling and Helping Skills. As your knowledge deepens and your study skills develop you could progress to qualifications such as the Level 2 Award in Counselling Concepts. Our Student Support Services team will work with you to design a personalised learning journey based on your needs and aspirations.

No formal qualifications are required to study this course. A willingness to learn is essential.
