A taster course to introduce counselling and helping skills and the theory that underpins professional counselling work.

Explores issues such as:

The difference between counselling and helping

The meaning of theory

Person centred skills

What can this course lead to?

This course can lead to progression to level 1 helping courses such as counselling or peer mentoring. To progress to level 1 students will require at least a level 1 qualification in English.

The assessment for this course is the completion of a written workbook.

The ability to write clear information using sentences and paragraphs is essential.

This course is a great starting point if you are interested in further study regarding helping others.

What are the entry requirements?

No qualifications are required to study this course however students should have good communication skills including speaking and listening skills.
